Helen's Mulberry Lane Farm Journal

April 25, 2011

I am beginning to make plans for our 2011 Helen and Gerald Aardsma Homecoming happening August 13th, and realized I never finished telling you about our 2010 Homecoming!

Our children David and Laura discuss their team strategy
in a game of lawn croquet.

Not just the children enjoyed the kiddie pool!

We enjoyed our own home-grown chickens
on our homemade outdoor spit.

Our garden potatoes cooked in a can---yum!

Our son Matt helps his nephew Ethan get set up for a good shot
in our BB Gun Contest.

Here are the three winners in our BB Gun Contest.
First: Matt, Second: Philip and Third: David.

I joined my younger sons and my grands for a swim.

Gotta' have a jelly bean contest.

Amazing how such a small thing can be so much fun!

As the day wound down, we sang favorite hymns
around the fire pit, taking requests in turn.

We ended the evening with fireworks...

and sent the kids home with treat bags.

Good-bye until next year.

Family faces are magic mirrors.
Looking at people who belong to us,
we see the past, present, and future.

Let me encourage you to organize a family reunion/homecoming for your loved ones this year. It is really worth the effort expended!

See you soon!

Helen
